“I’m just one kid.” Aang replied in defeat. “I must have taken out a dozen Fire Navy ships, but there’s just too many of them. “I can’t do it.” He says as he places his hands on his head. Aang slowly slid off Appa’s head to the ground, leaning against his bison’s forepaw. They heard Appa groan as the sky bison landed. “Huh? I learned something new.” Yue was thankful for the small conversation that didn’t involve fighting. The Winter Solstice is our longest day of the year and the Summer Solstice is our shortest.” “What do you mean? You make it sound like you don’t have winter and summer the same time we do.” Her waterbending was always stronger during our summer and I was stronger during our winter.” We didn’t have a master for our respective elements and had to work off each other since we’re natural opposites. “It was something Katara and I figured out when we were kids. She’ll be stronger at night while you fight during the day.”Īzula returned the smile. That was not the answer she was expecting, but smiled when she realized the reason. They already took all of our waterbenders with the exception of Katara.” “If the Northern Tribe falls, there is no chance for the Southern Tribe. “Besides Ba Sing Se and Omashu, the Northern Water Tribe is the only stronghold against the Fire Nation.” Azula answered. I don’t understand why they are attacking us now.” “It’s been nearly eighty five years since the Fire Nation attacked us. We can’t do much if they stay out at sea. “As terrible as it sounds, I just wish they would break the wall already. The water princess stood next to the firebender and watched as well.Īfter a moment of silence between the two, Azula finally spoke. Yue saw Azula standing by the half wall watching fireballs continue to fly in the air attacking Agna Qel’a. Quietly she got up and stepped outside for some fresh air. After an hour of listening to them go back and forth on the logistics to feed the soldiers and keep the other subjects safe once the Fire Nation breached their walls, Yue was starting to get a headache from worry. With no work to be done that wasn’t in the danger zone of being hit by a fireball, Yue had returned to the council hut to sit at her father's side to listen to the elders. Yue wanting to help inspired them to work harder to defend their home. Her people wanted their princess as far away from the danger as possible, but they appreciated the gesture. She had tried to help out anyway she could including being in the kitchens, but she was constantly kicked out. Yue was trying hard not to cry as she watched her people fight or their tribe. You weren’t even a player.” With that Azula walked away from Aang. I’ve known her most of my life.”Īang was silent as he thought of his reply. Just because you like Katara does not mean others can’t as well and her feelings also need to be factored in as well. I might not be much older than you, but your immaturity is infuriating. “I don’t care if you're technically a hundred and twelve years old, you’re still a child. I know you like her, but I love her.”Īzula scoffed at that declaration. “I saw you openly flirt with Katara at the banquet last night. “I want to put this out in the open.” Aang said, breaking Azula out of her inner turmoil. The two had always had each others’ back since they were paired up and now they would be fighting separately. She was furious at the Southern Water Tribe boy. Sokka was with the Northern warriors preparing for an important mission that he had volunteered for with some of the other men. They listened to the silence that fell upon Agna Qel’a when they learned of the Fire Nation’s imminent attack. Both were sitting on top of the half wall overlooking the city. Azula sat outside the council hut with Aang.
